01042011 - THE GOOD , BAD AND UGLY :)

Hye folks,

Fridays always been a busy day for me as I will be outside most of the time. My Action Song training went smoothly today. Once my class finished, I was heading to SJKT Ladang Sempah for my tuition for year 4, 5 and 6 students there. It was a combine class there where I must teach all them generally. While I was teaching them, I felt that our government was not fair to them. Some might say that I have no rights or should not tell this as Im a government servant. But, It's my rights also to express my opinion or what I felt as a human being. Rather be true to yourself than being hypocrites.Lets come to the topic, while I was teaching them I found out that they are much more capable to learn faster than my SK school student. Better If I would say that Vernacular school student far much more diligent and intelligent than SK school student. First of foremost, as a matter of fact they are learning 7 subjects for UPSR examination if compared to SK school students where they are just taking 5 subjects for the exam. Furthermore, they are much more faster in learning English than my very own SK school students. Why I'm saying so because in a week, they are only having 4 periods of learning English on their time table rather than 7 to 8 periods for SK School students. At the same time, they are copped with 6 other subjects. Their burden of learning are much more heavier if compared to SK school students. Why I'm saying not grateful because the government or our society unable to appreciate them wisely. Its like a curse if you're learning at the tamil school because your future is depending one subject mainly, BAHASA MALAYSIA. They will not appreciate you if you got 6A but failed in Bahasa Malaysia. They will straight away to 'jail' (remove class) and pushed you down to the maximum. One thing I wonder about this education system was, If vernacular school students failed in Bahasa Malaysia examination in UPSR, they will be sent to the remove class before enter Form One. I agreed if they said as a Malaysian we must know the language well than our very own mother tongue. But how about SK School especially Malay students who failed Bahasa Malaysia in UPSR? They supposed to know the language better than us as it is their mother tongue? Their burden much more lesser as their just involved with 5 subjects in UPSR than vernacular school students with 7 subjects. Very hard to accept the fact and digest it right? Well, thats happening for a long time but till now I'm not sure whether they (indian politicians, NGO's, or anybody in Malaysian Education Ministry) realized this or not? Really wondering, wondering and wondering? Thats why Im asking whether we are grateful enough to be Malaysian Indian? We just need a common sense to think about this rational and logic and I wonder this issue never been raisen up by anybody those who are in power. Its not about racial issue I'm talking here but just telling that this is not fair at all for not only Tamil school students but also for Chinese school students as well. "Education should be equal to everyone and everybody have the rights to learn". It was not really equal here. If 5A UPSR student could get place at Smart school , the same should be considered for Vernacular students who got 5A 2B. Really hope that our Indian Community Leaders do something with our Education system totally. Change the entire system so that more Indians could be able to get better education rather than concentrating the best students who got 7A's all the time. We should also appreciate those who 6A 1B, 5A 2B, or even students who got all passes. Dont discriminate them by number of A's they got. Remember, our education system only testing pupils right brain where they are just memorizing the facts and answer the question. So, we need to focus them overall and try to focus and and come up with a plan for those who are more keen on using their left brain. I am still hoping desperately that one day our Indian Community will have something like MARA Colleges, MARA Vocational Institute and so on in the future. Im not a racist or reformist here to represent any political parties here, even tough Im teaching in SK school, I felt very guilty when seeing Tamil school students whenever I teach them or see them. It was my genuine feeling that I would to share with you all.
Today also considered as a bad day for me, as I received a phone call from the one who was repairing my camera flash that my flash couldnt be fixed anymore and I need to buy a new one ... goshhhh !!!! Because of this I had to cancel all my photography assignment and what made me really sad some of the assignment was meant for my best friends and with heavy hearts, I have to say a 'big' NO to them :( This had add much more burden into my head.
Ok, guys, Im going to XPDC Gua Tempurung with my students 2morrow and it will be a long day for me and dont miss to catch JALAN ANNAMALAI series Part I and Part 2 tomorrow and Sunday at Astro Vaanavil @ 7pm.
